Welcome to BBC Audiobooks

About Us

BBC Audiobooks is the leading audio publisher in the UK. We are part of BBC Worldwide Audio & Music, which in turn is part of the commercial arm of the BBC. All profits generated by our titles are returned to the BBC for investment in programmes and services, supplementing the licence fee.

BBC Audiobooks was formed in 2001, with the integration of three leading audio businesses: BBC Radio Collection, Cover to Cover and Chivers Press.  Our main offices are in the beautiful city of Bath, and we have an American business, BBC Audiobooks America, based in Rhode Island USA.  As well as audio, we also have a thriving Large Print Books business, which provides titles to UK and international libraries and a direct mail business, the Audiobook Collection.

The BBC has a history of broadcasting excellence, consistently producing dramatisations and readings of unrivalled quality.  We at BBC Audiobooks embrace and continue that tradition. Our products are available on CD, MP3-Cd and in downloadable formats for retail, library and online markets.

BBC Audiobooks has a great record of innovation, quality and customer focus, which has helped us win Audio Publisher of the Year six times in nine years. Not only that, but many of our landmark recordings have been recognised with industry awards, as well as becoming bestsellers.
